Securing and reinforcement of the Sidi Said Maachou dam

The reinforcement of the city's drinking water supply provides for an increase of the supply of drinking water to this fast-growing urban and tourist centre.

The project aims to guarantee drinking water supplies until 2030 and includes:

A production part, with a water intake at the dam, with a dewatering station, a force main and a raw water storage area, a treatment station and a treated water storage area,

A transport part, with a treated water gravity transmission main.

Geotechnical investigations

• 240 m of core drilling
• 60 pressuremeter tests
• 4 items of piezometric equipment
• 104 mechanical excavator investigations
• Laboratory tests on remoulded samples, comprising 130 measurements of soil aggressiveness to concrete and 98 GTR soil identification tests (water content, particle size analyses by sieving and Atterberg limits)

Extension of the stations:

• pumping at the dam impoundment
• treatment
• along 70 km of drinking water supply piping
